Nose Enhancement

Nose correction without surgery is an excellent option for patients who prefer mini-invasive, non-surgical procedures and who are looking for fast and satisfying results. Although rhinoplasty usually is considered the treatment of choice for nose reshaping, dermal fillers can be used to correct small defects and make the nose look more harmonious. Candidates for this procedure are interested in correcting minor cosmetic flaws such as nose irregularities or depressions. Sometimes it is called the 15 minute nose job as the treatment involves only dermal filler injection to reshape nose. This is an excellent, affordable option for people who do not consider any surgery at all.

The non-surgical nose correction procedure repairs and modifies slight defects of the nose by means of subcutaneous injections of biologically inert fillers.

The most common dermal fillers used in nose area are hyaluronic acid (such as Restylane and Juvederm) and Calcium-based microsphere Filler (Radiesse).

At present one of the best options to reshape nose without surgery is application of a hydrophilic gel Aquafilling®, that is composed of 97-98 % of physiologic solution of sodium chloride and 2-3 % of synthetic polyamide. The most often mini-invasive nose contouring is applied to correct vertical naso-frontal grooves which descend to the nasal bridge from the forehead and transversal furrows which run across the nasal bridge. Also injectable filler is used to elevate or project certain areas of the nose such as the radix, dorsum and tip.

At the nasal bridge where is an apparent deep naso-frontal groove the needle is to be directed from the upper part of the furrow toward to the nose. During gel injection the needle should be moved along the groove of forehead, beyond the eyebrows, forming the skin fold. The injection should be made as close as possible to the bottom of groove. Filling the naso-frontal angle projects the profile and smoothes the dorsum.

This region has a small amount of fat and the skin is thin and poorly mobile here. The needle should be directed from the nasal arch to the tip of the nose to correct all irregularities. Fillers also are useful in the treatment of postsurgical nose sequelae. The long-lasting results achieved with hydrophilic gel can be very helpful in encouraging patients to refuse repeated surgery.

Hydrophilic gel can be injected directly into the tip of the nose to correct the drooping effects of age, and to give nose a more delicate look. Nasal tip also can be expanded using Aquafilling® products with a small part of the gel. For a more extensive nose reshaping, filling the anterior nasal spine and the columella basis with hydrogel opens the nasolabial angle to 90.

The aesthetic effects after Aquafilling® procedures are almost immediate and a patient returns to normal, daily activities right after a visit as no long recovery time is required. There is no significant swelling, bruising or pain. The effect lasts more than 2 years.
