Facial Defects Correction

The key elements of our approach to facial aging treatment are promotion of cellular matrix, collagen stimulation and volume replacement. Volume is lost both in the dermis and in the deep structural and supportive elements of the face. Consequently, it is important to address both of these layers in a holistic approach to facial aging. Strategies for augmenting lost volume in the soft tissues include the use of injectable dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid, autologous fat transfer or lipofilling, injectable biostimulatory fillers such as calcium hydroxylapatite, or injectable polyacrylamide gel.
Hyaluronic acid is glycosaminoglycan and a natural compound of the extracellular matrix. Clinicians can differentiate HA fillers by their mechanical properties and duration as a function of their cross-linking density. The resulting strength of the gel mainly determines the clinical application of the filler. Strong gels have a high lifting capacity and can be used for deep face wrinkles and folds, whereas weak gels have a low viscosity and can be used for very fine wrinkles and mesotherapeutic approaches.

But the most effective agent to decide tissue hydrophilic goals and correct facial defects is a newest volumizing water-based gel – AQUAFILLING®.

As a non-antigenic, nonirritating, non-toxic agent Aquafilling® is a hydrophilic gel, which acts as a depot for normal physiologic 0.9% sodium chloride solution, locked in the matrix of a three-dimensional spatial permolecular structure of synthetic linear polyamide. Its structure is based on multiple hydrogen H-bonds arising between carbonyl and amine groups. Availability of multiple active carboxylic groups gives positive charge to the polymer molecule and provides high hydrophilicity and water solubility.
Aquafilling® is biocompatable with the human tissues gel as 98% of its composition is made up of water, a natural substance of the human body and rest 2% is polyamide. It degrades slowly and provides high safety and a long-lasting effect up to four times longer than any other dermal filler.
Thanks to its structure Aquafilling® gel does not provoke any complications. Whereas Hyaluronic Acid is primarily used for wrinkle, against nasolabial folds and local skin augmentation, injectable Aquafilling® faceline hydrophilic gel is used for panfacial volume augmentation and general face rejuvenation, facial defects correction and it is well suited to address fine rhytides. To address volume loss in craniofacial support, Aquafilling® hydrophilic gel have traditionally been used for cheeks enhancement, jaw line contouring. Additionally hydrophilic gel is appropriate for non-facial usage, including rejuvenation of the hands and breast correction..
Aquafilling® hydrophilic gel as a dermal filler which is applied for small and large skin wrinkles smoothing: forehead, glabella, infraorbital region, nasolabial wrinkles, malar wrinkles, jaw wrinkles, bitterness wrinkles, wrinkles around lips, smile lines, perioral lines.

The procedure is virtually painless as Aquafilling® gel is administered into the skin with the thin needles. The diameter of the needle depends on the wrinkles depth and the effect a patient is willing to achieve. The injection is inserted directly from periphery to the injection site. Working with wrinkles and furrows, the upper subcutaneous layers should be filled with thin needles G-27-30.
Working with facial shapes, in case of bone fractures or deformations it is possible to fill periosteal layer and upper cellular tissue layers using G-21-G-24 needles.  To prevent gel extraction outside on the surface of the needle through the skin puncture, soft tissues should be constricted with a finger at the injection site. Light massage – petrissage is to be done till the bounds of Aquafilling® area.
The effectiveness is more than impressive. After the procedure a patient can return to his normal social and business life – there is no recovery time. Aquafilling® hydrophilic gel is safety and compatibility agent with very rare side effects such as slight redness and swelling. The results in the facial areas last up to three years – up to four times longer than any other dermal filler.
